In a pioneering move to address the escalating threat of cybercrime nationwide, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Jharkhand Police, has introduced the groundbreaking Pratibimb platform. This innovative web-based tool is poised to revolutionize the approach of law enforcement agencies in combating online criminal activities, presenting a potent solution in the ongoing struggle against digital threats.

Pratibimb's Unique Capabilities

Unlike conventional methods, Pratibimb not only aggregates data but leverages geospatial mapping to precisely identify the physical locations associated with mobile numbers linked to cybercrimes. Restricted to authorized officers, this platform provides an invaluable advantage in tracking down digital wrongdoers and taking swift action against them.

Mapping the Cyber Threat Landscape

Pratibimb operates by collecting data from every corner of the country on a daily basis. This visual representation empowers law enforcement and service providers to determine the physical location of these numbers, even if they are being used for criminal activities in different regions.

Once the mobile details of a cybercriminal are confirmed, investigators can take immediate action by blocking the SIM used in the crime and restricting the usage of the associated mobile phone. This proactive approach enhances the efficiency of law enforcement agencies in curbing cybercrimes.

Jharkhand Police Workshop

To augment their efforts, Jharkhand Police organized a workshop that brought together top officials, including the Director-General of Police (DGP) of Jharkhand. The discussions centered around critical topics such as the helpline number 1930, hotspot crimes against women and children, and the CCPWC Scheme.

Participation from officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), CBI, and other law enforcement agencies from Bihar, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation and cyber awareness in combating cybercrime. This collaborative approach is crucial in addressing the dynamic nature of cyber threats.

Cybercrime in Nagpur - Cyber Blackmailer Couple Arrested in Pune for Extorting Money

A sensational case of  cyber black mailing  and cheating has come to light in the city.  In this case registered at Pratap Nagar police station, the police have arrested 3 including the main accused IT professional husband and wife from Pune. Arrested accused includes Shatrughan Singh Tangral and his wife Manjusha along with Rahul Satyendra Jha, all three are residents of Pune. It is alleged that he stole source code and client's data from the director of a company based in Nagpur in the last 5 years and blackmailed them with rigging of about 9 crores.
