Once they have your attention, they cleverly request an OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your mobile number. Regrettably, once you provide them with this OTP, you unwittingly hand over complete access to your e-wallet, mobile number, and messaging apps to the fraudsters.

The consequences can be severe, as these criminals can misuse your personal photos and videos once they gain access to your accounts. If your mobile messaging app lacks two-way verification, cyber thugs can effortlessly install the app on their own device using your phone number. Subsequently, they gain access to your chat history and media, putting you in a vulnerable position. They may then exploit this information, extorting large sums of money from you by threatening to make your private content public.

To safeguard yourself from financial loss in the event of such fraud, the Cyber Cell recommends taking swift action. If you find yourself a victim of such a scam, it's imperative to file a complaint by dialing 1930 within 15 minutes of the fraudulent activity. Cybercrime in Nagpur - Cyber Blackmailer Couple Arrested in Pune for Extorting Money

A sensational case of  cyber black mailing  and cheating has come to light in the city.  In this case registered at Pratap Nagar police station, the police have arrested 3 including the main accused IT professional husband and wife from Pune. Arrested accused includes Shatrughan Singh Tangral and his wife Manjusha along with Rahul Satyendra Jha, all three are residents of Pune. It is alleged that he stole source code and client's data from the director of a company based in Nagpur in the last 5 years and blackmailed them with rigging of about 9 crores.
